Herne Hill Velodrome
Rider safety is a priority for all involved at the Velodrome, and we want to make sure that all riders have the necessary skills before allowing them to take part in more advanced sessions and races.
This is Stage Three of our Track Cycling Pathway
You must pass this Training Accreditation in order to take place in Intermediate Sessions at the velodrome and progress through the pathway towards racing, if you wish.
You must arrive in time to sign on, get a number on your jersey and be ready to ride. Latecomers will not be allowed to join.
You will be tested on:
We recommend you have experience of the following exercises at Herne Hill before you take a training accreditation as some of these may be included in the session. These will all be covered in basic training sessions:
Please note that this session is NOT suitable for first-time riders at HHV. Please see our Track Riding Pathway and attend a Taster session. If you have experience on other velodromes, please email us to confirm the right session for you before attending an accreditation.
We are situated at 104 Burbage Rd, London SE24 9HE. We’re a short walk (and even shorter cycle) from North Dulwich, Herne Hill or Tulse Hill overground stations and local bus routes can be found by clicking here. As you walk north-west along Burbage Rd (from the cross with Turney Rd) keep an eye out for some white curved walls, lovely wood panel gates and a small sign on your right-hand side.
We’ve a limited amount of free parking available on site but we encourage you to travel here by cycle or public transport where you can.
For more information about the recently updated traffic calming measures on Burbage Road click here or search ‘Dulwich Streetspace’. You can't access Burbage Road from the south (via the junction with Turney Road) on a weekday between 08:00-9:00 and 15:00-16:30. At those times you'll need to go via Half Moon Lane.
