Come and try track cycling at HHV! With friendly coaches and a relaxed atmosphere, our Track Tasters are perfect for riders of all abilities. This special session has been organised by mums, will be coached by mums and is exclusively for mums! Track Cycling offers the oppportunity to get some exercise and social time all in one, away from cars. Even if you're not looking for a new hobby, giving track cycling a go will tick that extra thing off your bucket list and give you a new perspective on what's possible in cycling.

Our Track Taster Sessions are the first step on our cycling pathway, and are essential to attend before participating in any other track cycling sessions. The Taster will teach you the basic principles of track riding, and be a fun introduction to the sport.

  • This session lasts 1.5 hours. Free bike/helmet hire included.
  • Lycra is not required, although we recommend that you don't wear anything too baggy - layers are recommended, as well as a warm jacket for after. Remember to bring water and a snack.
  • You can wear trainers for this session, but if you use cleats with your own bike, you are welcome to swap your own pedals onto our bikes to use with your own shoes.
  • Gloves must be worn
  • Please arrive 15 minutes before the session start time to complete the sign on process, to ensure that the session can start promptly

You will receive an email ahead of your Taster session, outlining everything you need to know. If you have any questions before then, please email info@hernehillvelodrome.com.

Location

Directions

We are situated at 104 Burbage Rd, London SE24 9HE. We’re a short walk (and even shorter cycle) from North Dulwich, Herne Hill or Tulse Hill overground stations and local bus routes can be found by clicking here. As you walk north-west along Burbage Rd (from the cross with Turney Rd) keep an eye out for some white curved walls, lovely wood panel gates and a small sign on your right-hand side.

We’ve a limited amount of free parking available on site but we encourage you to travel here by cycle or public transport where you can.

For more information about the recently updated traffic calming measures on Burbage Road click here or search ‘Dulwich Streetspace’. You can't access Burbage Road from the south (via the junction with Turney Road) on a weekday between 08:00-9:00 and 15:00-16:30. At those times you'll need to go via Half Moon Lane.
